Mrs. Alice Harrell Woodard age 80, of Margarettsville, NC, passed away Monday, January 11, 2016, at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, NC.
Mrs. Woodard was born December 21, 1935, in Hertford County, NC, the daughter of the late Manley Harrell and Olivia Parker Harrell. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Carolyn Woodard Watson.
She was a loving mother, grandmother and a faithful member of Sharon United Methodist Church for over fifty years .
She is survived by her devoted husband of 61 years, Ted M. Woodard, her daughters, Karen Gardner and her husband Bobby of Greenville, NC, and Teresa Montgomery and her husband Jeff of Elizabeth City, NC. Six grandchildren, John and Ben Watson, Shelley and Holly Garriss , Laura and Hunter Bright. One great granddaughter, Evi Watson. Also one sister, Louise Vann and her husband George Thomas Vann of Conway, NC.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Sharon United Methodist Church with Rev. Keith Cobb and Helen Burtchell, CLM officiating. Burial will follow at the Town of Severn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Massey Funeral Home in Jackson, NC, Tuesday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM and other times at the home.
