Mrs. Shelia Rose Phelps Byrd age 67, of Windsor, NC, passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2016, at Life Care Hospital in Rocky Mount, NC.
Mrs. Byrd was born June 11, 1948, in Bertie County, NC, the daughter of the late Russell Phelps and Carthinia Harrison Phelps. She was also predeceased by a sister, Sarah Howell and a brother, Julian Phelps.
She is survived by her husband Lonnie James Byrd Jr. her daughter, Cindy Cummings of Aulander, NC and two sons, Michael Paul Byrd and Jason Tyler Byrd, both of Raleigh, NC. Her sisters, Lois Hoggard of Tunis, NC, Shirley Jean Hoggard of Plymouth, NC and a brother, Wayne Phelps of Moyock, NC. Her grandchildren, Nikkie, Kelly, Brandon, Jordan and Micayla. Her great grandchildren, Chassidy, Grayson, Emily and Lenore.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 29, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Massey Funeral Home in Aulander, NC with Rev. Jim Cox officiating. Burial will follow at Hoggard Memorial Cemetery in Lewiston, NC.
The family will receive friends at Massey Funeral Home, Thursday, January 28, 2016 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
