Mrs. Dorothy Beckner Roope Clifton age 90, of Roanoke Rapids NC passed away Monday, February 22, 2016 at Halifax Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Clifton was born April 27, 1925 in Roanoke, VA, the daughter of the late Ted Beckner and Olia Richardson Beckner. She was also pre-deceased by her first husband William Alford Roope, her second husband Thomas Garrett Clifton, her daughter Linda Roope Overby, a sister, Louise Wray and a brother Houston Beckner.
She is survived by her sons, Jimmy Roope and his wife DJ, Michael Roope and his wife Donna, Gary Roope, William (Kenny) Roope and his wife Sharon. A sister, Clair Gould and two brothers, George Beckner and Aubrey Beckner. Also, a special friend and caregiver Clara Harvey and special friend Jackie Walker.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 25, 2016 at 12:00 Noon at Massey Funeral Home in Roanoke Rapids, NC with Rev Anita Thompson officiating. Interment will follow at Crestview Memorial Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 24, 2016 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Massey Funeral Home in Roanoke Rapids.
