
Murphy Laton Myrick, age 70 passed away February 18, 2014 at Halifax Regional Medical Center.
Murphy was born November 9, 1943 in Halifax County North Carolina the son of the late James Walter Myrick and Sarah King Myrick.
He was also preceded in death by his wife Olivia Long Moore Myrick. Murphy proudly served in our armed forces in the US Army for two years. He was an advocate for the employees of J. P. Stevens Company during his twenty years of service.
Left to cherish his memory are his two sons; Murphy Myrick, Jr. (Karen) of Roanoke Rapids and Matthew Myrick of Roanoke Rapids; His one daughter Julie Myrick of Nashville, NC and his beloved seven grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 21, 2014 in the Chapel of Massey Funeral Home in Roanoke Rapids at 2:00 P.M. with George Conner officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Hill Cemetery in Littleton, NC.
The family will receive friends Thursday, February 20, 2014 at Massey Funeral Home in Roanoke Rapids from 7:00 until 8:30 P.M.
